Chester, Connecticut is a small New England town bordered on the east by the Connecticut River and nestled in the rolling hills of the lower Connecticut River Valley. It is 12 miles north of the Long Island Sound, and only about 2 hours drive to New York or Boston. Approximately 1/3 of Chester's sixteen square miles is occupied by state forest land.
With a population of 3,450, the town has its own elementary school, and regionalizes with Deep River and Essex at the junior high and high school levels. Chester is proud of the many fine shops, antique galleries, craftsmen, artists, four star restaurants and theatres.
